Executive summary
The wedge is “private, respectful, family-safe memorial packages.”
Verdict: proceed with a landing-page plus concierge MVP, but do not position this as resurrection, chatbotting with the dead, or generic AI video generation.
Competitors already cover pieces of the idea: Picto.Video offers paid memorial photo animation, Media.io has a two-photo “missing loved ones” template, DeepBrain AI creates memorial avatars, and MyHeritage/Topaz/RestorePhotos.io cover restoration. I did not find a clearly dominant US consumer paid cloud service that bundles all three: customer plus deceased loved one composited into a short remembrance video, high-resolution restored photo deliverables, and explicit privacy/consent/trust positioning.
That gap is real, but thin. Generic AI tools will commoditize output. The premium offer is a consent-aware, grief-sensitive keepsake studio with tasteful templates, deletion guarantees, private sharing, optional human review, and digital/print-ready deliverables.
